Child Education

ICIE is committed to the preservation of the Islamic identity of our community.
We currently offer an After-School, Sunday School, and Qur'an Kitma Programs for our Children.

Our Goals and Objectives are clear:

  • To provide our children an enriched learning environment in every aspect of their tarbiyah.
  • To teach students about the importance of Islamic beliefs and pillars in a Muslim's life.
  • To help students acquire knowledge about the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his companions, and other prophets in order to foster the development of virtuous character in them.
  • To teach students the reading and memorization of the Qur'an.
  • To acquaint students with the Arabic language.
  • To build an understanding of the moral issues facing students and present Islam's relevance in dealing with these issues.

After School Program

The After School Program is offered for ages 4 and up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. The curriculum includes Arabic, Qur'anic recitation and memorization, Tafsir, Hadith, and the fundamentals of worship. There are currently 6 grade levels.

Sunday School Program

The Sunday School Program is offered for ages 4 and up on Sunday mornings at 9:50 am sharp. The current curriculum is focussed on Phonetic reading of Arabic, Tajweedul Qu’ran, and Islamic Studies.  Advanced Arabic is also offered for students that are interested in learning Arabic language.

The Islamic studies curriculum is based on books designed for weekend learning so that specific goals are reached by the end of the school year with an intensive once a week course work. Currently we are using books from Weekend Learning (www.weekendlearning.com). These books were selected after some careful research and iven the needs of the students and their families. These present a wide range of carefully selected topics from Qur'an, Hadith, Aqeedah, Ibadah, and Seerah to Islamic character and etiquette. In addition, there are other books by the used as teacher resource materials. For Arabic, the curriculum includes various levels of Arabic reading books. In addition, there are standard Qur’an Surah memorization by grade level as part of the curriculum.

 

Grade Levels

There are currently eight  grade levels, and student placement is based on age and their current grade level as well as the level of proficiency in Qur'anic Arabic.

School Rules and Regulations

Students are expected to:

· Show respect to self and others

· Be considerate and courteous to other students and adults by not swearing, making inappropriate gestures, name calling, or using verbal harassment.

· Follow the directions given by school personnel, volunteers, proctors, and other authorized adults.

· Keep hands, feet and objects to self

· Arrive at school on time, and stay in designated areas.

· Stay at the masjid for the duration of the school time and do not leave campus without permission from authorized personnel.

· Have regular attendance

· Help keep the masjid clean and orderly

· NO RUNNING or SHOUTING AT ANY TIME IN THE MASJID OR AROUND THE MASJID

General Classroom Rules

Students shall:

1. Enter the room one at a time, quietly and prepared with necessary materials, books, homework, etc.

2. Follow directions, practice good Islamic manners, and show respect to people and their belongings.

3. Raise their hands and wait to be called on by the teacher before speaking or getting out of their seats.

4. Be responsible for doing and turning in their work on time.

5. Keep hands, feet and objects to themselves.

6. No eating snacks, chewing gum or any other edibles or drinks in the classroom or the masjid

7. NO RUNNING!!!

BASIC DRESS GUIDELINES

We are in the masjid and this is the house of Allah. We must show respect to ourselves and the people that we are around. Remember that we will always have salat and the children must be dressed in the appropriate manner to be able to participate in salat. *No shoes are allowed inside the masjid at all times.

Girls

· No sleeveless shirts. NO EXCEPTIONS

· Girls that are 7 yrs and older must wear a hijab (head scarf)

· Long pants or skirts *NO SHORTS ALLOWED

· Must have socks to wear inside at all times

Boys

· No sleeveless shirts. NO EXCEPTIONS

· Long pants *NO SHORTS ALLOWED

· Must have socks to wear inside at all times

Please make sure that the clothing is not torn or has holes.

Parents

·It is mandatory that sisters wear hijab before entering the masjid. There will be extra hijabs available outside the foyer doors. Sisters need to wear appropriate clothing (long sleeve, loose shirts that are long and loose pants) to the masjid.

SCHOOL POLICIES

· DAILY SCHEDULE (SUNDAY SCHOOL)

· School will begin promptly at 9:50 a.m. with our morning assembly. Then the classes will begin at 10 a.m. If your child arrives past 10 a.m. they will be considered late. School will be let out after salat at 1:45pm. If your child is not picked up by 2:00 p.m. you will be considered picking up your child late and late pick-up fee may apply.

· ATTENDANCE AND ABSENTEEISM

·Children must attend the school regularly. If your child is going to be absent due to personal illness, a medical appointment, or attending a family affair, please call the school office at (909)944-1836 before school is to start. If you are unable to call the school, please send us a note of explanation when your child returns to school after an absence.

·Please note that any child absent for more than two (2) times per semester weeks without due notification to the office will be automatically dropped from the school enrollment.

· EARLY PICKUPS

·If you must pick your child up from school before the end of the school day, we strongly encourage you to do so at recess or lunch to minimize classroom/instructional disruptions. No early pick-up between 1:00 pm and 1:45 pm. You will need to sign out your child with the reason for early pick-up.

FINANCIAL POLICY

·All fees, which include monthly tuition, books and supply, snack fee, and any field trip fees are non-refundable. Fees must be paid on a monthly basis in advance within the 2nd Sunday /Monday (for weekday school)of the month. If fees are not paid by the 2nd Sunday /Monday of the month, a late payment fee of $5.00 per child will apply (please add this to your payment—NO EXCEPTIONS)

·Fees are to be paid by cash, check, or money order made payable to: ICIE School

·Fees are based on enrollment, not attendance. No deductions may be made from the monthly tuition for absences (vacation or illness)

·Families which request financial aid must fill out a Financial Aid application it will then be submitted to the education chair for review. Financial Aid will be granted on case by case base without discrimination. If financial aid is given there will be a contract that will include payment in the form of volunteer time at the school or in some other way. If this contract is not fulfilled then the financial aid will not be provided.
