The Sunday School Program is offered for ages 4 and up on Sunday mornings at 9:50 am sharp. The current curriculum is focussed on Phonetic reading of Arabic, Tajweedul Qu’ran, and Islamic Studies. Advanced Arabic is also offered for students that are interested in learning Arabic language.
The Islamic studies curriculum is based on books designed for weekend learning so that specific goals are reached by the end of the school year with an intensive once a week course work. Currently we are using books from Weekend Learning (www.weekendlearning.com). These books were selected after some careful research and iven the needs of the students and their families. These present a wide range of carefully selected topics from Qur'an, Hadith, Aqeedah, Ibadah, and Seerah to Islamic character and etiquette. In addition, there are other books by the used as teacher resource materials. For Arabic, the curriculum includes various levels of Arabic reading books. In addition, there are standard Qur’an Surah memorization by grade level as part of the curriculum.
There are currently eight grade levels, and student placement is based on age and their current grade level as well as the level of proficiency in Qur'anic Arabic.
We have a team of teacher with multiple years of experience and credentials, some of whom also teach in regular public and Islamic private schools. Here is our current faculty for 2009-2010 School Year:
